Book Review Run to Ground (Rocky Mountain K9 Unit #1)

Run to Ground (Rocky Mountain K9 Unit #1)

Title:  Run To Ground (Rocky Mountain K9 Unit #1)

Author: Katie Ruggle

Stars: 4 out of 5

 Review:

I will start off that I have reviews so far all of Katie Ruggle's books and each one has it own story and experiences that tie them all together. With that said you can read each one as a stand alone.

What I enjoy about Katie Ruggle is her ability to create a story using the knowledge she has gained over the years. Each story is place in a world readers are able to wonder could that happen?

With all romantic suspense readers will have to suspend some belief and this story isn't any different. Theodore Bosco is a little too moody, a little to lost but he is a cop who lost his partner so that is expected but where I had to suspend belief is when he decided to accept Jules even though his gut is telling him something is wrong. Katie makes a point that Theo is tried of people keeping secrets and yet he willing walks away from Julies very obvious secret. I get loved is blind but its not that blind but not to someone who is all about right and wrong.

Julie is trying hard to right the wrongs her siblings have gone though and some she doesn't know about yet. She is strong female character who isn't damaged but trying to make things right.

The kids in the story are present and many times Julie will ask where everyone is which is great knowing she didn't decide to make the kids disappear because sex doesn't work with kids around.

The author gives you just enough back story of Julie and how she was able to escape as well as a cliff changer that will keep readers excited for the next in the series.

Thank you to the Publisher, Netgalley and the author for the advance Copy.

Synopsis:

Theodore Bosco, grieving the death of his partner, is reluctantly fascinated by secretive newcomer Jules. Although his instincts scream that he should avoid her, he can't seem to stay away. It doesn't help that Theo's new K9 companion, Viggy, has fallen head over paws with Jules's rambunctious family.

Or that when he's with Jules, Theo finally knows peace.

When Jules kidnapped her siblings, whisking them away from abuse to the quiet anonymity of the Colorado Rockies, she never expected to catch the eye-or the heart-of a cop. All it would take is one wrong move and she'll lose everything. Yet as Jules attempts to fight her growing attraction to the brooding K9 officer, another deadly threat lurks much closer to home. Someone's gunning for Theo and Viggy, and they're willing to take out anything...or anyone...who gets in the way of revenge.

A fan of the old adage “write what you know”, Katie Ruggle lived in an off-grid, solar- and wind-powered house in the Rocky Mountains until her family lured her back to Minnesota. When she’s not writing, Katie rides horses, shoots guns (not while riding, although that would be awesome), cross-country skis (badly) and travels to warm places where she can scuba dive. A graduate of the Police Academy, Katie received her ice-rescue certification and can attest that the reservoirs in the Colorado mountains really are that cold. A fan of anything that makes her feel like a bad-ass, she has trained in Krav Maga, boxing and gymnastics.
